Over 130 names were removed from the Hutchins and Mirrill family lines... Seems I had two different Samuel Hutchins merged as one... Thanks Doug Smith, the problem has been fixed...
On the other side of things... Many new names have been added throughout the tree...

Isn't it funny how one little thing like a wrong last name can affect so much work? LOL If your a member of the Milligan family, you may need to update some of your files starting with Anna Catherine Hoschar... I had her mother wrong... I caught this little mistake while doing my recheck of data...
So, 820 names and attached media have been hand removed and a new 226 names have been added back in... Just about every person from the Plants family has been removed...

Spent many hours cleaning up the little errors in our family tree and removed 40 unrelated names…
If you find any problems, please let me know…
Written on 01/20/2013 by Michael A Thompson
Over 15 years or so of working on our family tree, I have merged many other family trees (from different cousins) into ours (more than I can count)... Today for the first time (should of done this more often) I ran an error checker on the whole family tree file and found 100's of date errors... Like people being born after their parents died... Looks like there is going to be months of work ahead just checking dates... Let the fun begin!
If you notice any date error's or errors of any kind, please let me know and I will fix them ASAP! I really hate when the information is off like that when I view someone else's page, so it needs to be correct here!

Just uploaded another 165 new names to the tree thanks to a 70+ year of family tree that was created by my Grand Aunt Marjorie and was given to me after her passing... I've had the tree for a while, but a couple days ago was the first time I had really looked at it... With the exception of a couple branches I never really could find anything on, seems my data matches up with what my grand aunt had found back in the 1930's and 40's... I guess that just helps me to know I am on the right path of the Halbert branch of the tree...
Enjoy!
Written on 01/16/2013 by Michael A Thompson
74 new names have been added under different branches and I had to remove a few names under James Mosby Thompson, (had some bad information)...
If your releated to the Halbert family, please take a look at the Unknown Photos section, maybe you know some of these faces...
Thank You

After yesterdays site outage (due to me messing around with the upgrades), I got the site back up and running and even got around to adding 290 new names to the tree bringing us up to 27,927 names in the family tree (so far)... Most of these new names are in the Smith and Brown families and I would like to thank Clem family cousin, Kathie Hutter for pointing me in the right direction!

Seem I have at long last found some new information for Peter Buchard Gallagher "Brickey" (my 3rd great grandfather)...
I found an obituary from the Sedalia Daily Democrat, Friday, Jan. 23, 1874 stating Peter died on 17 Jan 1874 in Pleasant Hill, MO while on a visit… There was no other information…
We at least have his date of death, now if I can just where he is buried….

Welcome to the newest version of Thompson Branch! I have been working hard for the past year or so on this newest version of our family tree website, version 3.0 as I call it... It's a very different layout that should be easier for you to browse and I know it will be easier for me to maintain and update... The old site had 20,000 plus pages of all hand written html code and it became very difficult to update and maintain... This new version of the site has a content management system (CMS), which will allow for quick updates and many more features that I have yet to explore...
With 23622 names now in the tree, my little website has big become a monster... So please enjoy the newest version of the site and send me your feedback!!!

I have been making small changes to the ThompsonBranch site the past several days… Like a Google 1+ button and a “Like” button for FaceBook as well as some behind the scenes stuff… If you come across any problems, please let me know know…
I will be uploading 100′s of new pages for the Edie branch of our tree very soon…
Written on 07/20/2011 by Michael A Thompson
I have at long last cleared out all the wrong data I had… It took a long time to trace down every page link and name from the index, but I have done it…
Every page linked to Martha Elizabeth Edie should be gone now… I will be adding the new correct information very soon… Our tree has gone in a new direction… It seems the Edie’s came from Scotland!
I’m sorry if you copied down my information from Martha (Jones) Edie and back… You may want to start your clean-up process… That is the nature of genealogy I guess, make a best guess and research it till you find its right or wrong…
Written on 06/06/2011 by Michael A Thompson
My Grand Aunt, Ada Belle (Thompson) Newberry passed away yesterday… You will be missed Aunt Ada Belle…
I’ll have more information for you soon…
Written on 04/26/2011 by Michael A Thompson
After years of research I found that I have made a very big mistake… Martha Elizabeth Jones (Edie) is not MY great grandmother… My great grandmother is Martha Elizabeth Edie… Both have the same birth date and both lived in Delta, Colorado… Martha Jones married an Edie, my Martha’s last name was Edie from birth… I am in the process of removing 1000′s of names and 100′s of pages from this site… It will take me a while to get this mess straightened out, so bare with me…
Written on 02/08/2011 by Michael A Thompson
I have added a few new names to the tree under Cadwallader W Jones.
Also, I have some more info on Vivienne Edie (Been looking for several years now)… Still looking for more info on her, but I did find that she was married, but I don’t know yet if she had any children. If you have any information on Vivienne Marvin Edie and husband Aron Borewman Malone, PLEASE let me know.

I’m very sorry to say, my ex-wife and good friend of 23 years, Heather Lynn (Wolf) Thompson was murdered on 8/3/2010 in Green, Oregon… I don’t have many details that I can share as it is a murder investigation… A memorial service is going to be held in Lancaster, California on 9/4/2010… If you would like more information about the memorial, please contact me…
Rest in peace Heather, we will all miss you…

A lot of changes today… I added new information to the Hammock and McEver branches of our tree and removed false data from the McEver branch. I’m always on the search for new family, so let me know how you fit into the family!
Written on 05/25/2010 by Michael A Thompson
I have been searching around for several years now for information on Peter B Gallagher b. abt 1812 in Virginia (From his 1850 Census). What I have right now is he was married twice, first to Lydia Garner and second to Nancy Haines. I thought his middle name was Brickey as found in a land grant form, but the past few days, I’m finding old posts on the web saying his middle name was Buchard and that he was from Ireland. These old posts list the same children that I have for him, but don’t name his first wife Lydia.
If anyone has anything that could help, PLEASE let me know… This one is really driving me nuts!

I made some fixes and added a few names to the Sasso Branch of our tree. If you have more to add, please let me know.
Written on 04/07/2010 by Michael A Thompson
This is sad to report… I had to remove several names from the tree. It seems I had some wrong data for the parents of Joshua Gibson. I had to remove 46 pages of data from the site and 13 surnames.
The following surnames are no longer part of our tree:
Barton, Baskerville, Bromwitch, Carnes, Crophill, Devereaux, Edwards, Higgs, McClellan, Milbourne, Oldcastle, Underwood, Wilder
I think I may be on the right track now though… So check back soon…
Written on 04/06/2010 by Michael A Thompson
I have added several more names to the tree starting with Sarah Jane Prewitt working back…
Also I have added and fixed some data with the children of Eli and Sarah Jones my Great, Great Grandparents…
Enjoy!
Written on 03/31/2010 by Michael A Thompson
I have uploaded about 525 new pages of data to the site, thats 2044 new names added to our tree! I have been working on this for several months now… The new pages and data start with the parents of Robert Dean (1793-1855), Thomas Dean III and Susan Freeman… I hope you find this useful…
Written on 01/04/2010 by Michael A Thompson
Thanks to new found cousin Kathy Milligan Hudson (on my wife’s side), I have updated several names and added even more under the Milligan Branch… Enjoy! And as always, if you have anything to add, PLEASE let me know!

I have been busy searching for new branches of the tree and now I think I may of found one… I will try to get the data uploaded in the next few days. The branch I may of found is off of Robert Dean (1793-1855) on my Grandpa Halbert’s side… I just need to do some more research first as we all know, one person’s wrong data can mess up a whole tree… But if what I found is right, then Robert Dean’s parents were Thomas Dean III and Susan Freeman!
Written on 07/13/2009 by Michael A Thompson
I made a few fixes and added some new census reports to several Halbert family members. I also added several WWI draft cards… ENJOY!

I really enjoyed the reunion this past weekend out in Colorado… We should not let so much time pass between reunions again; I think the last one was in 1991! It was great to meet you all and catch up on life and I look forward to seeing some more of you Thompson descendants in July out in Missouri…
I will get a section up and running soon with pictures and maybe even video from the reunion in the next few days now that I’m back home… If you have any pictures to add, please send them my way!

Written on 05/22/2009 by Michael A Thompson
Starting with Czarina Houser, I have at long last added her parents and so on… I have held off on her family for a while now, because of all the conflicting information I was finding on the NEFF and HOUSER lines… Seems some people don’t pay attention to names and dates when putting trees together, so I was finding things like a mother born in 1798 but her father being born in 1820… I took me a while, but I think I may have the right info at last… But as always, if you see a mistake, please let me know…
Written on 05/09/2009 by Michael A Thompson
I have found what I’m sure is the right last name for my 3rd GGM Drucilla Meador, wife of Josiah H Hicks… I had Meadow as her last name, but after years of searching, I found that Meadow and Meador were mixed up often, depending on who wrote it down…
With her correct last name I now have 8 new generations of family added… That’s 134 new pages and several hundred new names…
ENJOY!
Written on 04/01/2009 by Michael A Thompson
Several small fixes have been done under the Halbert line and a few names and censuses were added…
Written on 03/31/2009 by Michael A Thompson
I have added more names and data under Peter Brickey Gallagher… Still looking for Peter’s parents though…
Written on 03/15/2009 by Michael A Thompson
I think I now have the right family for John Hammock born abt 1801 in Georgia… A couple hundred names have been added to the tree… ENJOY!
Written on 02/05/2009 by Michael A Thompson
I’m 99.99% sure I have found the parents of Eli Edwin Jones! That only took me about 6 years or so… I have about 15 generations of new family members added now… Enjoy!!!
Written on 11/17/2008 by Michael A Thompson
Thanks to new found cousin Dave Harris, there have been some big changes to the Hammock Branch… Seems I had a wrong middle name for John Hammock born abt 1801… I had a “P” and now it seems to be an “S”, the whole tree changed… I had to drop about 260 names and only added 29 back in… Oh well, nature of the beast I guess…
Written on 11/14/2008 by Michael A Thompson
OK, I think I now have everything up and running. All the family tree data looks good (after many re-checks) and the website at long last has a blog… You can now leave comments on any news I add… The guest book also seems to be working… It has been a learning experience for me… All this HTML and Style sheets and now PHP… WOW, fun stuff, NOT!!!!
At least now I can get back to the REAL fun stuff, pure research… That’s the part I like…

New information added for my Thompson line. I think (After years of looking) that I may have the right family for William J Thompson (My 4th Great Grandfather). I have added his line going all the way back to Scotland. I have more data than what is loaded that I will be posting soon…
Written on 03/28/2007 by Michael A Thompson

Updates!!! I have removed all data for Adaline Hedden’s parents (About 6 generations worth) as I know for sure now that her last name was in fact Hearing. This comes from several documents, which I will have up for your viewing pleasure very soon. One is from a personal phone book which has her name as Herring (I think it may of been mis-spelt) and another is from James Halbert’s death certificate which has her name as Hearing. I have also found a couple branches of Hearing’s living in Missouri at the time of Adalines marriage to David Halbert. I am working hard to find which family is hers.
Also, I think David Halberts parents were Jesse Halbert and Elizabeth (Unknown). I have followed their trail and it seems to be a perfect match for David. I will post my findings soon.

I have found many cousins that are one marker off and I am now trying to research their lines as they should lead to my line somewhere… I don’t fully understand the whole DNA thing yet, but I’m learning as I go…

OK, it’s been a while and I know some of you have been waiting, so here it is. The new version of my little site. A new look and new sections to explore. I went on a fact finding mission back in May of 05 to the mid west (MO, AR, KS) and found some new data, met new cousins and went through several cemeteries.
There is a new “HEADSTONE” section to the site with the pictures I took and a “STATISTICS” section to check out. I also have more family pictures in the “PHOTOS” section and copies from some family bibles.
And as always, if you have anything you would like to add, please let me know.
Thank you.

The tree has changed a bit. Some data has been removed and new stuff added. I found that I had some wrong data on the parents of Francis Cooke . After some research I found that his parents are UNKNOWN. I had his parents as Richard Cooke and Alice Caunton (as I had found on various trees across the internet), but that is wrong… But I guess that is the nature of a family tree, it never stops changing.
